چکیده

In 1957 Hume described anterior dislocation of the head of the radius associated with undisplaced fracture of the olecranon in children. Of the three cases that he described and illustrated it is our opinion that, whereas Cases 2 and 3 were classical examples of the injury, Case I is of an entirely different entity, namely a lateral dislocation of the radio-humeral joint with greenstick fracture of the upper end of the ulna. We have recently encountered two patients with the same injury.

Elbow dislocation with bicondylar humeral fracture in an adult: a unique type of injury

Simultaneous fracture of lateral condyle and medial epicondyle of humerus along with elbow dislocation is very rare injury in adults. Only a few cases have been reported in literature in pediatric age groups. The authors describe a case report of fracture of lateral condyle and medial epicondyle of humerus along with elbow dislocation in a young adult. The patient sustained injury in the form o...

Persistent Medial Subluxation of the Ulna with Radiotrochlear Articulation

Two patients-one with a terrible triad fracture dislocation and one with an anterior olecranon fracture dislocation—weretreated for maltracking of the elbow (medial subluxation). The radial head articulated with the lateral trochlea while theulnar trochlear notch was perched over the medial trochlea. The late revision surgery could not correct the subluxationbecause the joints were accustomed t...

Dislocation of the head of the radius associated with fracture of the upper end of the ulna in children.

Traumatic dislocation of the head of the radius in children may be either an isolated injury or, more commonly, part of a more complex injury to the elbow, such as the Monteggia fracture-dislocation. in that injury the dislocation of the head of the radius is described as anterior or posterior and the fracture of the ulna affects its shaft (Watson-Jones 1956). Wise (1941) reported a case of lat...

Complex elbow dislocation associated with radial and ulnar diaphyseal fractures: a rare combination

We illustrate a rare complex dislocation of the elbow involving a posterior ulno-humeral dislocation associated with open diaphyseal fracture of the ulna, radial shaft fracture, Type 1 coronoid fracture and neuropraxia of the deep branch of the radial nerve. The isolated ulno-humeral dislocation without radio-capitellar involvement, and ulnar diaphyseal fracture, makes this "reverse Monteggia" ...

Anterior Shoulder Dislocation and Ipsilateral Humeral Shaft Fracture

Simultaneous dislocation of shoulder and humeral shaft fracture is a rare injury, and there is no clear protocol for its treatment. Herein we present a case of a 15-year-old boy, who suffered from a job-related accident and sustained fracture of humeral shaft associated with ipsilateral anterior shoulder dislocation and fracture of greater tuberosity 15 years ago. He received closed reduction o...
